I went and saw Superman (2025) today. I felt like I had to go to avoid any spoilers, and to see what James Gunn's new direction for the entire DC world would be like. I wrote a whole review and went back and forth on so many things but I think what I am most interested right now is your thoughts. I might post my initial reaction later on but for now, what did you think of the new movie if you saw it? Do you like the new direction? Do you hate it? Feel free to post spoilers in the comments section, and if you haven't seen the movie yet and want to avoid spoilers, don't read the comments for now.

I didn’t originally plan on seeing Superman on opening weekend but an opportunity presented itself so I did. Since spoilers are allowed here goes. Krypto stole every scene he was in. I thought it was a good choice not to make another origin story and that Lois knew her boyfriend Clark was Superman. Gunn made a choice to skip showing the world building and instead simply explained that metahumans and heroes had existed for a long time and humanity lived with them. As an audience member I was able to go with that but I can see how some might feel differently. As for Clark/Superman himself I like this interpretation, he seems like a well adjusted and mostly positive person. On a negative side there was a lot going on in this movie and I think they could have skipped a few things while still getting to the endpoint they wanted. I was able to follow everything that was going on but because of the amount of stuff if you don’t pay attention you may miss something. Overall a pretty good start and much better than the DCEU.
You can also say that about some of the elements of the new Supergirl comic books that have come out and have become a big hit and critical success.
Mister Terrific was the best part of the movie.
I thought it tried to do too much--introducing an entire cinematic universe is no small task. It mostly worked though.
I had fun watching it. I'll pick and choose the future projects that interest me, but it feels promising to me.
Will say this, seeing pictures BTS of her in the outfit on social media (mostly X), I say it suits her. Looks good in it, not as good as Melissa Benoist in TV seasons 1-4, but I do dig the color schemes a near even balance of the red, yellow and blue. I did hear that's not the outfit she will wear in next year's Supergirl movie.
